Izzy Rabey

Artistic Director/Founder (she/her)

Izzy is originally from Machynlleth in Mid-Wales, and has been based in Cardiff since 2016 and works as a Theatre Director, Applied Drama Practitioner and Singer-Songwriter/MC for her band The Mermerings. As a Director, Izzy has directed and assisted at The Other Room Theatre, Theatre Clwyd, Culture Colony, National Theatre Wales and The Royal Court (On Bear Ridge, 2019). Izzy has toured Run Amok productions since 2013 across Wales (Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Chapter Arts Centre, The Richard Burton Theatre) and England (The Firestation, Windsor and The Rosemary Branch, London). As an Applied Drama practitioner, Izzy has worked in Mumbai, Narok (Kenya) and New York City, specialising in mental health, autism and complex behaviour in young people. In the UK she has worked on behalf of Valley and Vale Community Arts, The Sherman Theatre and Menter Caerdydd in behaviour units, alternative provisions and adolescent psychiatric units across South Wales. She is also an Associate Artist and Arts Outreach officer for Hayaat Women's Trust.

Nerida Bradley

Nerida Bradley is a director, writer and activist based in Cardiff. She is the new Co-Artistic Director of Run Amok Theatre, Trainee Director at The Other Room and Producer of Trans Pride Cardiff. She has a passion for multidisciplinary, accessible and risky theatre, always with a political core. 

 

Directing / devising credits include: Mary (ongoing ACW funded project in collaboration with designer Lauren Dix); Mole (Ella Maxwell); Grit (Benjamin McCann/RWCMD); The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning (USW Landmark Festival); Writing to Reach You (Eno Theatre) and The Assimilation of St David (The Other Room).

 

Assistant director credits include: Crave (The Other Room/RWCMD); The Coronation of Poppea (august012); Cardiff Boy (Red Oak Theatre); All But Gone (The Other Room) and hang (Run Amok Theatre).

Writing credits include: in the beetle black dark (The Other Room), Itching (The Other Room), Wisdom Teeth (The Other Room), Strands (Scriptdawg) and Aphrodite Rises (Spilt Milk Theatre). 

 

Nerida will have her debut production at The Other Room in Spring 2020.
